Casa Colonica is a cheerful trattoria situated in the thermal spa gardens of Negombo, in the splendid setting of Lacco Ameno. The restaurant is also open to the public at lunch and dinner, and managed by friendly couple, Gioacchino and Marialuisa, who create a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

The picturesque eating area enjoys a relaxing atmosphere, situated on a terrace characterized by vivacious colours typical of the Mediterranean, decorated with bright ceramics and a hearty display of seasonal fruit and vegetables and typical cherry tomato piennoli (hanging bunches).

The trattoria specializes in its wide selection of house starters, such as authentic buffalo mozzarella, stuffed peppers, grilled aubergines with orange, fried mini-pizzas with tomato and basil, and tasty endives with capers and olives. First courses certainly worth mentioning are tasty squid-ink rice fragranced with citrus fruits and basil and raw prawns, and mouth-watering spaghetti with anchovies laced with orange. Delicious main courses include shrimps with lemon, fried fresh-fish served in the basket, and other tempting alternatives. A house speciality, available only in the evenings, are the freshly-made fried graffe (a type of Italian doughnut).

The trattoria is open for lunch from April to October, and also in the evenings from June to September (reservations preferred). Meals start at 25 euros per person.
